ALBERTO SASSI S.p.A  is leader in manufacturing of gears, gearless and motors for lifts since 1946, when Mr. Alberto Sassi founded the company.
Alberto Sassi has been producing and sellingits products in Italy and all over the worldthrough selected distributors, and still belongs to the family founder.
Alberto Sassi S.p.A. belongs to SASSI HOLDING S.p.A.and has never stopped itsgrowing and developing. Technology research and human resources are at first place and the first target of all investments.

Alberto Sassi is one of the few companies in the lift market, who produces each single component of the gear and gearless, thus granting for quality after sales assistance to the customers.
The first aim of the Sassi Staff is customer satisfaction and the continuous fulfilment of market’s requests.

1946 In the ruined Italy of the immediate post war years, reconstruction was a national priority. One of the leading protagonists of this effort was the Alberto Sassi company, which managed by its founder Mr. Alberto Sassi, started manufacturing essential building construction equipment, specializing in the production of gearboxes for lifts.

1961 The company becomes a S.p.A., which is a joint stock company, the offices and the production units then moved to our current location in Crespellano on the outskirts of Bologna.

1965 Alberto Sassi company begins the manufacturing (as sole gears manufacturer in Europe) of electric motors.

1982 The Alberto Sassi company becomes one of the world leaders in this field.

1995 The Alberto Sassi S.p.A. takes over the control of the company SMS Sistemi e Microsistemi s.r.l. to whom is transferred the elect ronic section (which had been created by Sassi in the early '80s).

1996 The high standard and the quality of the company's products is confirmed and enhanced by achieving UNI EN ISO 9001 certification.

1996 The Alberto Sassi S.p.A. purchase the majority shares of the company Gibierre S.r.l. which starts the manufacturing of all electrical motors, once produced by Sassi.

Jan. 2000

In order to streamline its management structure, S.p.A. Alberto Sassi has decided to separate the production and sales activities, now transferred to Alberto Sassi S.p.A., from the real estate and investment operation, and convert to a Holding Company, still belonging to Sassi family.

2000 Following the needs of the market and the technical experience gained therein Alberto Sassi creates LEO, the chamaLEOn of the Year 2000, that is a new gear able to adapt itself to all installation's requirements.

Oct. 2000 Sassi Holding takes over control of the company Liftmaterial (GB) L.t.d. - a trading company located in Great Britain - which in June 2001 changed its corporate name to SLS Sassi Lift systems L.t.d..

Sept. 2001 Sassi Holding takes over control of FAYMESA S.L. a Spanish company specialising in the manufacturer of gearboxes for lifts.

March 2002 The quality managing system of Alberto Sassi Spa, already existing since 1996, is now certified by TÜV.

2004 The technological family of the SASSI products is enriched by a new gem: the Gearless is born.
Totally designed and produced in our premises, it is characterized by its lightness, noiselessness and the high levels of energy efficiency.

2007 Ready to face the new challenges on a more and more competitive market, the company and productive structure of the group is strengthened by incorporating the company Gibierre srl and by building a new industrial premises near the existing one.

Today Alberto Sassi SpA, which still belongs to the founder's family, covers a covered area of 16.000 mq and employs 160 people (managers, employees and labourers).
Our company has a presence in the market wherever high quality, advanced technology lift components are in demand.
